length of cyclosporine treatment

I am just wondering, how long the patient can take the cyclosporine? Is there a time limit before it becomes inefective (does it?)? And finally, what are the long range side effects on the body (liver, kidney etc) and risk involved in taking it?

I am trying to help my friend whose child was diagnosed with aplastic anemia recently. Thanks and good luck with your treatments.
