Epogen "boost"

Can someone tell me how long it usually takes for the red cells to go up after getting a boost from Epogen?

My son has been on Epogen already 6 weeks - since Nov 25th. His red cells and hemoglobin continue to drop and he needs transfusions every 2-3 weeks. This is a second bout with SAA and he had been on Epogen for 16 weeks 3.5 yrs ago also without noticeable difference. I am growing inpatient since I can’t see any effect of this drug and also after I read about luck of its effectiveness in the British Guidelines of AA Management.
