I only could find one article about the Cytoxan controversy. Is there more than one? The difference between the unsuccessful NIH study and the successful Hopkins studies (one is ongoing) is that the NIH combined Cytoxan with another chemotherapy whereas Hopkins gives the Cytoxan alone. There is a big difference. Hopkins has not had the fatalities that NIH had. I had the Cytoxan as my first and only treatment. The recovery period is much slower than if I had been given a bone marrow transplant, but I will never have to worry about graft vs. host disease or later complications. The only permanent consequence was menopause (I'm 43). I was the 44th person who has had the Cytoxan without bone marrow transplant, and the other patients that I have been in contact with who had this are all doing well. I know that there are members of the medical establishment who feel that the treatment that I chose is dangerous, but it is a CURE, and it gave me my life back.
