As you may recall that my son was diagnosed with SAA in march this year at the age of 4. Because there was no sibling match, we had to go for ALG treatment. He started responding at 3 months with ANC going up to about 1. Also his hgb started inching up and his latest counts today were HGB 9.2, ANC 1.5, WBC 4.7. His platelets are not responding at all, and stay at around 10000. He has not had a RBC transfusion since july, but gets platelets twice a month. Some doctors have told us to repeat the ALG, but his doctors want to wait a bit more. What do you think?. Is that considered a response or not. Should we wait a bit longer?. Is there anythng else we can try to bring his platelet count up. Any help will be highly apprecaited.
