marla, thank-you, and marlene too - your information helps me to understand the treatment efforts as well as the expectation for doc visits. i'm thinking my brother and sister-in-law are quickly learning what his counts are, and what they mean. because this is so new to us, it's still in the difficult stages to know what to expect and/or make an effort to be comfortable with. it doesn't seem to be something that you ever really relax about, but it is encouraging to know that you can eventually find things to distract you from the worry. do you mind sharing about the hospital/area that you were treated? how did you find a doc that you felt had the experience of treating SAA? again, my thanks, as your replies were comforting. am pleased to read that you've had positive results! take care. jerilue
